ATHENRY ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL CLUB PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

As part of Athenry FC's commitment to the Player Development Pathway, we have created a direct path between our U18 team and our 1st team. 

Hugh McDonald and Cory Walker both made their Senior Team debut in a GFA Premier Division match against Colemanstown on Wednesday 8th November. Both Hugh and Cory made a significant contribution in a game that Athenry won 5-2.

This is a progressive positive move as it will certainly lead to better player retention and full commitment to Athenry FC in the future. Special Thanks goes out to their U18 Manager, Owen Diviney and Men's 1st Team Manager Seamie Crowe for providing this pathway.

Athenry Association Football Club works closely with the Football Association of Ireland in player and coach development. Working with players and parents/guardians alike Athenry Association Football Club seeks to provide club members with opportunities to develop their understanding and knowledge of the 'beautiful game'.
